who we are

who we are

One Too Many started out when band members Joey Dastra and Corey Houck began jamming with a friend before a 3 week trip to Europe. When they returned, they began playing for fun with a handful of friends, only one of which did not join the band. One Too Many was officially formed in September 2017, and consisted of Joey, Corey, Ethan, Tyler, John, Derek, Kien and Noah. Their first public performance was in October 2017 playing only two songs, "Ain't No Sunshine" and "Sunny Afternoon" at an IB recital at McCaskey High School. Their first "offical" gig was on New Years Eve 2017 for friends and family.

In January 2018, Joey, John, Derek, Tyler, and Corey played an open mic at Tellus360 in Lancaster City. Draven Andresen eventually joined in February 2018, bringing the band to 9 members. DJ Viray was the last member to join, and rounded out the group to its current 10 members. Things picked up for One Too Many in the summer as they played graduation parties, Miesse's Candy Shop's grand opening, and a few gigs at Wholefoods. Then in September 2018, the boys played in the Young Musician's Showcase at Binn's Park. This was when they were offered the big New Year's Eve 2018 gig. Leading up to NYE, the band did a press conference, and radio interview, and released two singles, all while playing small gigs around Lancaster. On New Years Eve, despite the cold and rain, One Too Many brought out a great crowd to ring in the new year with Lancaster City.

Tellus360

Leading up to the New Years Eve gig at Binn's Park, One Too Many had a press conference at Tellus360 to advertise for the show. The boys played some music, answered questions, and got to socialize with the crowd. It was a great event to build up excitement for NYE.

NEW YEARS EVE

New Years Eve 2018 was a big break for One Too Many. It was their first gig for a crowd of that size and they were able to get every person there dancing and singing along, despite the pouring rain. The opportunity to perform for their hometown of Lancaster made the show even more special for the guys.

"The excitement and love you all have for each other shows through your performance which is so amazing to watch. It's so hard to find people that genuinely enjoy what they do and the people around them and I am just so impressed and excited that you are our future!"
